Beautiful bronze medallion depicting the portrait of the painter Raphael and the Fornarina * PB signed to back, XIXth century.
This medallion is in good condition. It is monogrammed on the back.

* The Portrait of a Young Woman (La Fornarina) is a painting executed between 1518 and 1519, and usually attributed to the Italian Renaissance artist Raphael. This is an oil painting on wood 85 x 60 cm preserved at the National Gallery of Ancient Art of Barberini Palace in Rome (Italy). Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, influenced by the works of the master, made a painting of Raphael, with Fornarina on his knees, in his studio, in front of the table running.
