Bronze sculpture brown-green patina representing a fencer, entitled "Challenge", signed E.Drouot *, founder Etling Paris, offered by the Tourist Office of Saint-Quentin and Vermandois "marble base, the first time half of the twentieth century (1920s).

This sculpture is in good condition. It is signed on the terrace. It carries two plates on the side of the pedestal: "1926 Sword Sword St St Quentinoise Quentinoise 1927", "1928 Cambrai Fencing Fencing Circle 1929 Circle of Cambrai."

A note: the sword is a little twisted, micro-chips on the edge of marble, light wear time, see pictures.

* Edouard Drouot (1859-1945):

a vast repertoire, varied themes, a sense of movement and expression make this artist a prominent figure of the sculpture of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Many of his works have been abundant prints bronze by different foundries. At the Salon, where he exhibited from 1889 can be identified busts, figures both female and male, allegories, mythological compositions including quite a number of plaster statuettes.
