Jeannette Breton cross from Plougastel (Finistère) in finely chiseled solid silver decorated with flowers in the center, boar's head hallmark, with its original ribbon decorated with a bouquet of roses, from the 19th century.
This cross is in good general condition, hallmarked at the top.
A note: some small shocks and dents, micro-scratches and wear of time on the money and the ribbon, see photos.
* Jeannette crosses were worn everywhere in France, and especially in regions that had not adopted a particular and unique cross. In Brittany, Jeannette crosses were often hung from velvet ribbons with decorations that were supposed to ward off bad luck by their brilliance.
We put a 2nd similar cross for sale on this site.
