Very nice cameo with the portrait of a young woman dressed in antique mounted on a spindle pomponne * golden era of late nineteenth century.

* Pomponne: alloy developed by two goldsmiths, Turgot and Daumy, installed at the end of the eighteenth century in the hotel Pomponne Street glassware in Paris. It is a copper-based metal designed to imitate the gold or silver. Louis XVI had granted a privilege to manufacture in 1785, while up to this date, any imitation is prohibited.
