Chatelaine * solid gold color 18K finely chased, punched eagle head, decorated with small flowers and foliage, with keys and watch a seal or stamp after three small chains, period late XIXème- early twentieth centuries.

This lady is in good condition. She is punched see pictures.

A note: the strings are a little twisted and intertwined, some small accidents on certain links (see red arrows), micro-scratches and wear of time, see pictures.

* The chatelaine

accessory-jewel worn at the waist, hanging on the belt, whose ancestors Clavandier and troussoir the fourteenth century. It consists of a wide hook whose front face is decorated and several chains terminated with charms, scissors and / or a watch. In the first part of the eighteenth century, the lady became fashionable; at the end of the Ancien Regime, it is worn by both men and women, sometimes double, symmetrically on both sides of the pants or skirt. When moved neoclassical mode, which traces the waist under the breast, the lady disappears almost completely, but it comes from 1820, when the size takes place. Veture jewel in many regions and accompanying the traditional dress, the lady offered money for the wedding was used to suspend sewing instruments: that is why it sometimes bears the name Hook scissors. After 1850 appear with the Gothic fashion, chatelaines emblazoned heraldic.
