Pair of wall brackets carved Napoleon III 19th


pair of brackets for wall sconces *, intricately carved wood, decorated with two dragons or lions roaring open mouth, gothic Viollet-le-Duc, the nineteenth century Napoleon III.

These consoles are in good condition.

A report: slits on the wood, two holes on top and unu repair on the edge (see last photo before), light staining on the other, minor losses on the teeth of lions, wear and scratches from use, see photos.

* Desks sconces

Called "wall consoles" consoles often place themselves against the wainscoting, a pier between two windows and two doors. Under Napoleon III, is seen to be reborn consoles important ornamental plants. (Excerpt from Larousse Dicionnaire antiques and flea market).
