5 History Books French Navy nineteenth Sue 1835

Work in five volumes entitled "History of the French Navy, seventeenth-Jean Bart" by Eugene Sue, Paris Publisher Felix Bonnaire, 1835, vintage early nineteenth century.

These books are in good condition. They include many engravings of characters and ships as well as facs-similes of letters (see photos).

A note: the paper is slightly yellowed in places


* Eugene Sue (1804-1857)

French writer, he is the author of seven novels and exotic marine eleven novels of manners, ten historical novels, fifteen other social novels (including a series called The Seven Deadly Sins), two short story collections, eight political books, ten- nine theater productions (comedy, vaudeville, drama) and six miscellaneous. He is the author of The Mysteries of Paris (1842-1843) and the Wandering Jew (1845). He was a deputy Republican Socialist of the Seine. When Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte made his coup, he fled into exile in 1851.
