is a French chronologist, sub-librarian of Saint-Victor, commissioner of naval classes in Provence. In 1670, he negotiated the peace and trade treaty with the dey of Algiers. We owe him "Chronological tablets for the history of the Church and for secular history" (1632, 2 vols. in-8°); “History of the French monarchy” (1683-1686, 4 vols. in-12). In addition to these justly esteemed works, he left several which remained handwritten.
