* Straw marquetry:
Heir to a know-how born in the 17th century, straw marquetry adorns the flat surfaces of furniture or objects by applying, using glue, rye straw cut with a knife and tinted to make boxes, furniture, screens and decorative panels. Straw marquetry boomed in the 17th century, reaching its peak in the 18th century. This ornamentation technique reappeared in the 1920s.
