Superb and rare coin box golden brass finely carved decor of Empire General Profile portrait of Maximilien Sébastien Foy * engraved "THE MODEL OF SPEAKERS - LIVED FOR HOMELAND", containing 16 etchings "paean ruled on the grave of General Foy Mr. Viennel; this book is found in Remé Rue Beaubourg 13, 1825 period nineteenth century.

This medal is in good condition. It therefore contains 16 spare engravings (see photos). On the back of the box, it is engraved "JEMMAPES. - WATERLOO Altar between the Alpha and the Omega, urn inscribed FOY / DEAD / ON 25 NO / 1825 and lower HONOR / IN GENERAL FOY".

A note: slight wear, scratches and dirt on the gilding on the box, see pictures.

* Maximilien Sébastien Foy (1775-1825) was a general of the First Empire and a French politician. In 1807, he was sent to Constantinople to organize Turkish artillery and stands in defense of the Dardanelles against the British fleet. It receives in Waterloo, June 18, 1815 15th wound of his career.
