Beautiful wooden jewelry box blackened wood pearl inlay decor pink and golden brass small flowers and butterflies, as well as floral and vegetal arabesques on top and keyhole, signed "Tahan * Provider Emperor "Napoleon III nineteenth century.

This box is in good condition it is in its own juice. It is signed on the lock.

A note: some accidents and lacks on wood and brass (see red arrows), missing part of the keyhole, a few tasks on the cover, wear time, although looking at the pictures.

* TAHAN Jean-Pierre (1813-1892)

Probably the most famous of cabinetmaker of the Emperor Napoleon III. It was under his leadership that the house of his father, Pierre Lambert, took off and became one of the most famous of Paris. He served 10 low wall street until 1847, and then 161 rue St Martin, 34 rue de la Paix in 1849, and finally 11 boulevard of the Italians, from 1866 to 1878. The latter is the most prestigious address, because he has confidence that time of Napoleon III. His specialties were the boxes, cabinets, small furniture happiness style of the day, offices. He had major workshops and more than 200 workers around 1870. He participated in all the exhibitions and competitions between 1849 and 1867. He won a silver medal in 1849, one in London in 1852 and gold in 1867 and an honorary medal awarded in 1865 by the Central Union of Fine Arts. He became one of the personalities of his corporation, and served until 1882.
