Large spelter sculpture signed Marcel Debut* representing the Genie des Arts holding a torch and a painter's palette, seated on a sphere, red marble base, with plaque "Génie des Arts Beaux-Arts 1898 (par Debut)", of late 19th century period.
This sculpture is in good condition. It is very decorative due to its large size. Signed on the side founder's signature on the back.

painter and sculptor, pupil of his father, Didier Debut, he exhibited at the Salon from 1883. Pupil of Jules Lefebvre and Pierre François Marie Boulanger, in 1895 he obtained an honorable mention at the Salon of French Artists of which he was a member.
