Exceptional bronze sculpture with brown patina-green, representing a lioness with her cubs to a boar, signed A.Cain * Editors Susse brothers in Paris ** of XIXth century.

Susse brothers ** The companywas founded in 1758 in Paris, originally stationery trade, she won acclaim in the art foundry. The Susse brothers, Nicolas and Victor began by commercializing small bronzes in their stationery Passage des Panoramas. There are traces of their new business founders of Art in 1839, they publish a small catalog of production. This is their first major contract with a renowned sculptor James Pradier, who in 1841 launched their business.
