is a French sculptor, medallist and painter. A student at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Hippolyte Marius Galy was a student of Auguste Dumont (1801-1884) in sculpture and Fernand Cormon (1845-1924) in painting. He was a member of the Society of French Artists in 1891. He made several models and numerous sculptures for the palaces and buildings of the Universal Exhibitions in Paris. He brought back many paintings from his life in the Basque Country.
