Superb green patina bronze sculpture depicting two sheepdogs, one sitting and one lying at his side, signed L.Richer, perhaps for Louis Riché *, vintage early twentieth century.

This sculpture is in good condition. It is signed on the base, maybe Louis Riché.

A note: slight wear and soiling of the patina, see photos.

* * Louis Riché (1877-1949):

animal sculptor. Student of Gardet and Perrin. Associate of French Artists since 1905, it figured in the Salon of that group; honorable mention in 1897, third-class medal in 1903 and second class in 1905, gold in 1924, out of competition. He also exhibited at the Salon des Independants, since 1923. Riché ontinuera exposing animal subjects between the wars. (Bénézit extracted and "bronzes nineteenth century" by P.Kjellberg)
