* Marie Leszczynska (1703 -1768)

is a Polish aristocrat, daughter of the King of Poland (1704-1709) Stanislas Leszczynski, queen consort of France by marrying Louis XV in 1725. She was the last Queen Consort of France to die with her crown and the last to be mourned by the French who had dubbed "our good Queen."

** Marie Leszczynska as Juno (1731) by William I COUSTOU (1677-1746). The work - with its representative during Louis XV - was commissioned by the Director General of the King's Buildings, the Duke of Antin in 1725 to adorn the park of the castle of Petit-Bourg. The two statues will join the royal estate at Versailles after the death of the Duke. The portrait was a transvestite fashion during the first third of the eighteenth century, including painting illustrated by the paintings of Largillierre and Nattier. Entered the Louvre in 1850.
