Beautiful brown patina bronze sculpture depicting a woman draped in antique oriental and sitting on a bench covered with embroidered cushions, signed H.Dumaige * XIXth century.

This sculpture is in good condition. It is signed on the bottom cushion.

* Henry Dumaige Etienne (1830-1888):

Student of Feuchère and Dumont, he exhibited at the Salon of 1863 to 1886 busts, statues and groups. The Rouen Museum of him was a statuette of Camille Desmoulins and that of Tours, a small sketch in plaster, the statue of Rabelais. Second medal in 1880. Various works of Dumaige have been bronze prints, especially dancers statuettes. (See Bénézit and Bronzes of the nineteenth century by P.Kjellberg)
