Bronze sculpture of a faun playing the flute dancing, signed Lequesne *, of XIXth century.
This sculpture is in very good condition. It is signed on base see pictures.
Sculptor (Ec en), a pupil of Pradier, exhibited at the Salon from 1842, won a second Prix de Rome in 1843, first prize in 1844, a first-class medal in 1851 and another medal in 1855 (Expo) Knight of the Legion of Honor the same year. Mention of him including a "Dancing Satyr" in the Luxembourg Gardens. (Excerpt Bénézit)
