Bronze sculpture with brown patina, entitled "Au Clair de la Lune" on the base, representing a Pierrot playing a mandolin and singing the popular nursery rhyme, his pen stuck in his hat, signed Bouret, * of XIXth century.
This sculpture is in very good condition and is of remarkable quality. It is signed and titled on the base.
Sculptor (Ec en). Student of Buhot. He exhibited at the Salon from 1875 to 1903. Bouret worked in many materials, marble, plaster, terracotta and bronze. Mention is made of him a "court of Venus to Psyche" and the bust of Alexis Bouvier on the novelist's grave at Père-Lachaise in Paris. (Bénézit)
