Exceptional pair of candlesticks Louis XV gilt bronze chiselled decorative rock shells and foliage, arms on the foot with a double coat of arms surmounted by a crown, was mounted on a curved foot contoured ogee, punched the C * Crowned , the XVIIIth century.
These candlesticks are in good condition, they are of outstanding quality. Bronze was formerly silver. They are punched at each C Crowned in two places.
A note: wear to gilding in places (then silver appears), a few minor dings and wear time, see photos.
Designed by Louis XV to be a tax stamp of the crowned C also became collectors for a quality mark and date: used between 1745 and 1749, he seems to have been insculpté as the finest bronzes.
