Very nice pair of candlesticks Louis XIV ormolu right sleeve and was baluster with four cut corners faces, on a flat octagonal base, punched in C * Crowned, vintage late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries.
These candlesticks are in good condition. They were controlled and marked the middle of the eighteenth century.
A note: cracks and crevices on the barrel of the two candlesticks (see red arrows), small draft and deformation on the edge of a foot, shock and wear some time, see pictures.
Designed by Louis XV to be a tax punch, crowned C also became a punch for collectors and standard time: used between 1745 and 1749 he seems to have been insculpté as the finest bronzes.
