Pair of silver bronze Regency candlesticks finely carved, decorated with birds octagonal socket and urns, was arched with four sides adorned with profile portraits of characters, riding a chiseled foot octagonal including arrows, quivers, torches, characters heads and foliage, signed by Christofle *, vintage late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
These candlesticks are in good condition. They are signed and numbered on the foot. They have their sockets.
A note: desilvering in places, a barrel is not aligned with the foot (see last photo), wear and slight shocks time, see photos.
is a French silverware company founded in 1830 by Charles Christofle. His punches master goldsmith deposited in 1845, when the first factory "silver silversmith." At the end of the nineteenth century, Christofle now produces silver plated objects. The Emperor Napoleon III order, in 1851, all official tableware Empire Christofle. By the second half of the nineteenth century, Christofle also became the supplier of ministries, embassies, parliaments around the world, but also the luxury hotel, maritime and railway companies, both French and foreign.
