Among the big names of glass artists (Daum, Muller, Noverdy, Negra, Schneider, Maynadier, ...) which are references for the fine quality of their productions of the 1930s and Art Deco style, DEGUE is a label that one finds especially on the glass for light fixtures (sinks suspension chandeliers with central cup and tulips in pressed glass, ..) but also on vases. Founder and owner of the company Art Glass Degué in Paris (1926-1939), David GUERON signs his productions DEGUE label; he first created in the early 1920s Cristalleries Compiègne before settling in Paris in 1926, with a factory Boulevard Malesherbes and a shop where he presented his work at 41, avenue de Paris in the 12th district of capital. In some of his works, such as this vase, David Guéron became famous for a beautiful daring in the use of color. A great rivalry existed between the master glassmakers of the time; Charles Schneider (The French glass) David Guéron accused of copying his designs and it is the courts that the dispute was submitted. This is the second World War that ended the Glass Art Degué David Guéron leaving France in 1939. (See website leblogantiquites.com)
