Drawing in ink (or felt) signed Hamburg * representing a view of boats sailing at sea, dedicated to "Liliane Cogeval tribute and friendship 1964", vintage twentieth century.

This drawing is in good condition. He is under glass. Signed and signed lower left.

A note: some small spots and yellowing on the paper, tiny wear on the frame, see photos.

* André Hamburg (1909-1999):

is a figurative painter, official painter of the Navy and French Resistance. André Hamburg paints landscapes, seascapes. Lithographer, draftsman, decorator, he travels a lot and reports from his stay many preparatory drawings to illustrate bibliophile books, especially on Normandy and its beaches, Provence and its markets, North Africa (Abd-El Tif shared with Emile Bouneau in 1933), where he moved from 1933 to 1939. He obtained the same year 1933 the price of French West Africa. Official painter of the Navy since 1952, he shares his life between the Normandy coast - he owns a house in Englesqueville-en-Auge (Calvados) - and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, which are his favorite subjects. In 2007, his wife Nicole Rachet donated 71 of his works (paintings, prints and drawings) to the National Maritime Museum.
