Ink drawing representing a lion sitting on a capital letter L, the same drawing reproduced in a small corner, signed GFRötig *, vintage twentieth century.

This drawings is in good condition. Signed at the bottom. It is under glass.

A note: tiny stains on the paper, slight wear on the frame, see photos.

* Georges-Frederic Rötig (1873-1961):


A pupil of B. Constant, J. Lefebvre and JPLaurens, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français since 1894, medalist in 1902 and 1904, and won the Rosa Bonheur Prize in 1913; non-competitive member. Rötig is mainly known as an animal painter. Several of his works can be found in the museums of Amiens de Cambrai and Le Havre. (Bénézit extract)
