Charcoal drawing representing the portrait of a young child wearing a wide lace collar, by Marguertite de Mortefontaine*, in a gilded and pearled wooden frame, from the 19th century.
This charcoal is in good general condition as is its frame. It is under glass. Annotated on the back "Drawn by Marguerite de Mortefontaine (perhaps Marguerite Le Peletier de Mortefontaine (1809-1890)? - Given by her to my father in 1828 in Paris [...] 1865, J. Bigot". Comes from the Bigot - Serres family.

* Georges Serres (1842-1924), son of Georges Serres, married Marie Bigot (daughter of Jacques Bigot). They had two children together: Henri (father of Marie-Christine Serres) and Jacques (Colonel), father of Bernard, Philippe, Christian and Jean-Dominique.
The paintings presented are annotated on the back by the descendants (notably Bernard Serres, born in 1926).
