characteristic of Austrian work in the second half of the 19th century. 1870 was a fertile artistic period in Vienna. The taste for 16th and 17th century objects is growing. Thus, many enamelled shape pieces set in lapis, rock crystal or in silver appear. These pieces were strongly influenced by the Renaissance and the taste for cabinets of curiosities or chambers of wonders in vogue in the 16th and 17th centuries. These pieces are presented at international exhibitions. Several workshops were created, as in the 1870s, those of Hermann Böhm, Ludwing Pollitzer, and Simon Grünwald.
