Gilt bronze and gilded portico clock, decorated with two cariatid vestae, adorned with winged griffins, above a beautiful flower basket, underside of the dial decorated with a drapery element, base decorated with a quiver with bow and arrows, dial signed Omont * in Rouen, vintage Return of Egypt I Empire early nineteenth century.
This clock is in good condition and is of an excellent quality. We have a wooden base and a globe. The movement works, we have the key and the pendulum decorated with a cherub or Bacchus.
* The dial is signed by the clockmaker Louis-Joseph-Frédéric Omont (1772-1857) who was appointed Governor of Gros Horloge Rouen (watchmaker responsible for taking care of the clock and who resided in the tower).
A note: some scratches and dirt on the marble, some fouling in places on the gilding, a bronze ornamentation (net) moves slightly on one side, wear time, see photos.
