Important Black Forest * carved wooden clock (75 cm high) * representing a pheasant and its pheasant hen placed on a trunk covered with foliage and small flowers, at their feet four young birds claiming to eat them, dial with enamelled Roman numerals, XIXth century.
This clock is in good condition and is of exceptional quality because of its size. We have his pendulum but not his key, the movement will be reviewed.

The carved wooden objects of the Black Forest are not native to Germany but were manufactured in the Brienz region, Switzerland. The tradition of woodworking is ancestral in this region, the inhabitants perpetuate the practice of carved wood on the facades of houses, furniture or everyday objects. The sculptors excel in particular in the representation of wild animals in their natural environment. In the nineteenth century, these naturalistic sculptures of the black forest became very popular and very popular.
