Religious clock in blackened wood and Boulle marquetry, amounts with fine columns, gilt bronze ornamentation, decorated with two cherubs on the trumpet surrounding the signature "Raingo Frères *", XIXth century.
This clock is in good condition. Signed see photos. Wire movement also signed, to be revised (suspension blade missing, we can take care of the revision on request and estimate). We have the key and the pendulum.
A note: some dirt and lacks on the marquetry, small break and restoration (glue) at the button which closes the rear door (weakness), wear of time on the wood, look at the photos.
was founded in 1813. The Raingo brothers settled in the 1830s at 8 rue de Touraine, then moved to 22 rue Vieille du Temple. They are originally specialized in luxury watchmaking. We also owe them a number of patents for astronomical clocks. Their production of clocks earned them a first success in the world of Parisian watchmaking. Then in 1840, they extended their production and embarked on bronzes for art and furnishings.
