Exceptional and rare clock finely chiseled gilt bronze inscription "Beware the Bomb" on the base, representing an angel in the cloud of smoke of cannon fire, symbolic of fertility (the mortar raises Love in a cloud of smoke), cock movement signed watchmaker Charles Le Roy *, antique Executive late eighteenth century.
This clock is in good condition. The movement predates the clock (early in the eighteenth century.). It will be to revise.
A REPORTED: lack needles. a rear leg has been repaired, the decor elements move a little in the base, wear and micro-scratches time, see pictures.
Master in 1733. He remained Rue St. Denis (1748-1769). He died in Nanterre, as buried in the parish church of St-Maurice, which still see his plate. (Excerpt dictionary French Clocks Tardy).
