Gilt bronze clock representing a woman in the antique, Allegory of Peace and Abundance, holding a cornucopia, at his feet a globe above the dial an anchor, a caduceus and crown laurel, base decorated with floral garlands and palmettes, signed by the watchmaker and L. Mesnil Ravrio * bronzier in Paris, First Empire period early nineteenth century.

This clock is in good condition. It might work to review. We have his key and pendulum.

A note: the bronze will be cleaned, lack certainly a decorative element above the dial (anchor moves a little) time wear, see photos.

* André Antoine Ravrio, 1759-1814, famous Parisian bronze worker, whose portrait, painted by Riesener in 1812, is preserved in the Louvre. He worked for the Comte d'Artois in 1774 for the Royal Furniture Repository in 1787-1788 and for large imperial residences including: Compiègne, Fontainebleau, Meudon, Rambouillet, Saint-Cloud, the Grand Trianon and Petit Trianon. Several clocks, also signed by Ravrio bronzier Mesnil and watchmaker, are reproduced in Vergoldete Bronzen, p. 352 and 353.
