Half coconut carved, decorated with a flowered wicker basket and floral friezes on the edge, working as a sailor or convict *, of XIXth century.
This coconut is in good condition.
A note: it was broken and then glued in the end, dirt on a flower, a few scratches and normal wear see photos.

* The coconut as the tagua was worked by sailors or also by convicts. The latter worked to pass the time but mainly to get some money to improve their lives. Can also be attributed to sailors during their long journeys. These objects are coconut or corozo fine examples of folk art.
