Exceptional coconut carved with rich décor of many characters: Roman soldiers fighting as well as women and children fleeing a fortified city and castle, the Roman camp was installed in the background from a forest, decorated end of face grotesque, marine work or convict * of XIXth century.
The coconut is in very good condition. It lacks eyes sulphide face.

as the corozo, it was worked by sailors or also by convicts. The latter worked to pass the time but mainly to get some money to improve their lives. Can also be attributed to sailors during their long journeys. These objects coconut corozo are fine examples of folk art.
