Very nice coconut carved, decorated with an elegant woman riding a horse at full gallop and a cut flower, surrounded vegetable friezes, working sailor or convict *, of XIXth century.
This coconut is in good condition.
A note: missing eyes sulfide the character head, wear and scratches some time, see pictures.

* Coconut like the ivory nut was worked by sailors or also by convicts. The latter worked to pass the time but mainly to get some money to improve their lives. Can also be attributed to sailors during their long journeys. These objects are coconut or corozo finest examples of folk art.
