Spice Rack with finely carved tagua decorated two religious scenes of Christ among the apostles, and a laurel wreath as an handle and foliage, marine work or convict * of XIXth century.
This spice holder is in good condition.

* Coconut as the tagua was worked by sailors or also by convicts. The latter worked to pass the time but mainly to get some money to improve their lives. Can also be attributed to sailors during their long journeys. These objects coconut corozo are fine examples of folk art.
