Very pretty snuffbox corozo finely carved decoration of musical instruments (horn, violin, trumpet, tambourine) and partitions, a flower on the cover and a bow, a quiver and a torch, silver interior Vermeil, working sailor or convict, XIXth century.
This snuff box is in good condition. The interior is stamped with a hare head (back punch) and goldsmith punch.
A note: one eye is pressed, the part of the mouth can be removed (had to put on the inside), small slot on the lid, small holes on the character's face, wear time, see pictures.

* Coconut like the ivory nut was worked by marine or also by convicts. The latter worked to pass the time but mainly to get some money to improve their lives. Can also be attributed to the sailors during their long journeys. These objects coconut or ivory nut are fine examples of folk art.
