Decorative cup by Ernest Léveillé* in blown glass with speckled decoration in oxblood red interlayer, exterior engraved and decorated with gold leaf, from around 1900, late 19th century.
This cup is in good condition, very decorative. Not signed. Old label from the store "A la Grande Jatte Passage Morin Angers".

is best known for his porcelain, but he would have vases of great beauty made. He was born in 1841 in Paris and became a merchant publisher of porcelain and crystal. Founder of the Léveillé house in 1869 at 74 boulevard Haussmann in Paris, in 1885, he acquired the E. Rousseau house, merchant publisher of porcelain and crystal, and operated the business from 1886 to 1890 under the name of "Maison Rousseau et Leveillé réunies". He created the models and had them made, then engraved, according to very precise instructions. This work earned him a gold medal. His crackled vases and engraved on three layers of glass are appreciated. Renamed "E. Leveillé" after Rousseau's death in 1890, the store was transferred in 1899 to 140 Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris. In 1902, he joined forces with the Toy company, a porcelain and crystal business, under the name "Maisons Toy et Leveillé réunies". The establishment was located at 10 rue de la Paix in Paris. Ernest-Baptiste Léveillé died in 1913 in Vaucresson.
