is a French master glassmaker. 20 years old, he joined as a clerk in glass close to his native village. This is where he learned his trade. At age 24, he left his native Vosges to work in the glass of the Plaine Saint-Denis district of the city of Saint Denis near Paris where he was employed as a clerk at night. Six months later, he became head of production and in 1866, aged 27, he became director of glassware. He then build a new modern factory and a city worker who over the years became an industrial complex of nearly 20,000 square meters. He became CEO of Legras et Cie, and the Glass and Crystal of Saint-Denis. He participated in many national and international exhibitions, where it is often rewarded. He was also responsible for glassware and crystal part of the Universal Exposition of 1900 in Paris. In 1909, he sold the direction of his business to his nephew Charles Legras. It is one of four glassmakers to the founding of the Art Nouveau Gallé, Daum and Lalique. Wide variety of work with considerable shape models and varied scenery. The classification method is the most used function in decorative themes such as landscapes, flowers, wildlife.
