Large solid silver pot spoon hallmarked with the Fermiers généraux de Rennes (1732-44) and date letter V (1735?), chiseled with an alliance coat of arms with the coat of arms of the Le Vicomte family (gold crescent on an azure background) and that of the du Chastel de la Rouvraye family (gules with a castle topped with 3 towers and supported by 2 lions), from the 18th century.
This spoon is in good condition and is of superb quality. Worn and unidentified goldsmith's mark. This spoon comes from the Breton family of la Guerrande (related to the family of Chastel and Villirouët by marriage).
This is the alliance coat of arms for the marriage in 1721 of Claude Jeanne Françoise du Chastel de Rouvraye (1701 - 1777) with René Le Vicomte, squire. Her sister Charlotte married in 1729 Jacques-Louis Mouësan, Count of La Villirouët (1687 - 1745), squire, lord of La Villirouët.
Please note: some tiny bumps and micro-scratches from time, see photos.
