His mastery of the great historical styles, the originality of his creations as well as the number of models realized and presented during nine World Expositions from 1855 to 1900, earned him, at the end of his career, the nickname "King of Bronze" And a national and international reputation in this industry. Frédéric-Eugène Piat is also the founder of the museum of decorative arts of Troyes, inaugurated on May 31, 1894. The Troyes Museum of Fine Arts now has the largest public collection in France dedicated to this artist.
