is a French master glassmaker of Art Deco, a student of Daum in Nancy and creator of the art glass claw Le Verre français, with his brother Ernest Schneider (1877-1937). Ernest and Charles Schneider grow up in Nancy. After their apprenticeship at the glass factory Daum, they founded their own company, Verreries Schneider, at Épinay-sur-Seine in 1913. The success of the company is confirmed after the end of hostilities in 1918. It counts until five hundred employees in 1925 and sells his creations all over the world. The glass market, however, was severely affected by the Great Depression of 1929 and will lead the Schneider brothers' company to bankruptcy in 1938. Charder manufacturing mark: The French Glass was the largest art glassworks in Europe in the years 1920-1930. A large majority of his creations, very marked by the school of Nancy, are due to Charles Schneider.
