Small vase bud vase in molten glass *, ** signed Gallé, decorated with acid rain of flowers and foliage, antique Art Nouveau late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
This vase is in good condition. It is signed on the side.

* Molten glass: glass treatment known since ancient times (Pliny), rediscovered by H.Cros 1880, which sought fusible material workable in paste or liquid state. This is a colored crystal, previously pulverized and mixed with water, added with a binder to compose a paste; thereof after cooking becomes hard and translucent to then be shaped and colored like a sculpture. Glass paste is true otient by amalgamating cold glasses and enamels crushed. The paste is then molded and subjected to baking in a lost wax mold; under the effect of heat agglomerate the components. * Emile Gallé (1846-1904) is an industrial, master glassmaker, cabinetmaker and French ceramist. He is the founder and first president of the School of Nancy in 1901. Child of Art and commerce, it is one of the most outstanding figures of the applied arts in his time and one of the pioneers of Art again.
