Emile Gallé Vase Art Nouveau glass paste nineteenth


Oil on canvas depicting the portrait of a young writer at his desk, surrounded by papers and manuscripts, in a wooden frame stuccoed gilded First Empire period early nineteenth century.

This vase is in very good condition. He is signed to see pictures.

* Molten glass

Treatment of glass known since ancient times (Pliny), rediscovered by H.Cros 1880, which sought fusible material can be worked in paste or liquid. * Emile Gallé (1846-1904)

Industrial, master glassmaker and cabinetmaker French ceramist. He is founder and first president of the School of Nancy in 1901. Children's Art and commerce, it is one of the most influential figures of his time to applied art and a pioneer of Art Nouveau.
