Very pretty little glass box enamelled Mary Gregory * decorated with a little girl among flowers, XIXth century.

This box is in good condition.

A report: slight soiling on brass, use micro-scratches, see photos.

* Mary Gregory (1856 -1908)

is an American artist specializing in enamelled glass. From 1880 to 1890, she worked with her sister at the Boston and Sandwich Glass Company. It has the distinction of having in his works only to Victorian children (dressed in sailor suits or crinolines) amidst scenery of nature, not unlike Kate Greenawayet illustrations, and more rarely babies. Topics glazed with a milky white very typical and very recognizable, were carried out by application of glasses, pitchers, decanters, sugar bowls, vases, bottles salts color amethyst, light green, dark green, amber, blue, turquoise , cobalt blue and gilt. His productions were mainly manufactured in European cities Bohemian glass, mainly glassware Hahn Gablonz, and to a lesser extent by the Moser glassworks in Karlsbad and spread until the 1950s.
