Painting portrait of the painter Frederic Le Brun by Lionel Royer, 1902

Large oil on canvas depicting a portrait of the painter Frederic Le Brun (1852-1901) in his studio, painted by Lionel Royer ** and dated 1902, in a wooden frame stuccoed gilded, antique early twentieth century.

This oil is in good condition and frame. It is signed on the bottom right.

A note: small scratch marks and restores, see photos with red arrows, a few slots on the frame.


* Frederic Le Brun (1852-1901)

portrait and genre painter, born in Flers (Ec en). A pupil of Carolus Duran. He debuted at the Salon of 1879. (Excerpt Bénézit).


Lionel Noel Royer ** (1852-1926)

history painter (Ec en). Pupil of Cabanel and Bouguereau. He debuted at the Salon of 1874; second class medal in 1896. Out of competition for French artists. (Excerpt Bénézit)
