Table lamp, office or architect Gras *, model 206, oak sole supporting a triangular black enamelled cast iron base from which rises a swivel arm black lacquer system, period 20-30 years XX century .

This lamp is in good condition. Electricity will be to review (we can take care on request and specifications). It is signed on the joint "Lampe Gras Adjustable Patented SGDG" (signed between 1922 and 1930).

A note: some scratches and wear on the plate, slit on the wooden base, traces of oxidation, wear time, see pictures.

In 1921 Bernard-Albin GRAS designed a series of lamps for industrial and construction department. The lamp Gras is amazing with its ergonomics and simplicity of its mechanics - no screws or welding - giving it robus-tesse foolproof. But Bernard-Albin GRAS was one of the first designers of the twentieth century: not content to innovate, it adds to her creations an original functional aesthetics particularly in the design of fonts and connecting rods. Very quickly, Le Corbusier, seduced by its modern design and quality of use, adopts the range of lamps Gras and perfect in his office and in his many achievements worldwide. The light then enters Gras legend. Follow Robert Mallet-Stevens, Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann, Eileen Gray, but Sonia Delaunay, Georges Braque, Coco Chanel ... This is the first time in the history of lighting a lamp used in workshops and in homes and flats. Today this lamp is collector's item lovers around the world including France, the USA and Japan.
