Painted miniature presented in a solid 18-carat colored gold brooch, representing the portrait of René Ange de la Guerrande* (1744-1816) in a frock coat, Lord of Ville-Colleu in Matignon (North Brittany), husband of Etiennette de Berthou (daughter of the president of the nobility in the states of Brittany), from the late 18th-early 19th centuries. Sold with a waistcoat that belonged to him.

This brooch is in good condition. No hallmark but has been tested in 18K gold. We are adding to this brooch a striped vest that belonged to René Ange de la Gyerrande (it is also reminiscent of the garment worn in this miniature).

Please note: missing the pin, tiny scratches and slight wear from time, see photos. Tears and wear to the fabric for the vest (in its original condition).

This miniature (and the waistcoat) comes from the Breton family of La Guerrande .
