Painter working in Paris (Ec fr). He was a pupil of Boucher. He was protected by the Comte de Caylus and the Prince de Conti, and he became the king miniaturist. This artist who devoted himself almost exclusively to the miniature is one of the most remarkable of the French School. One can find the proof in the delight he showed Sir Richard Wallace brings together a large number of his works in its collection (extract Bénézit)
Artist on ArtPrice good side.
