Napoleon first portrait miniature painting Dumont nineteenth


Miniature hand-painted the portrait of the Emperor Napoleon I * with the Legion of Honor, signed by the miniaturist Dumont, period end XIXèe century.

This miniature is in good condition. It is signed on the right side. It is under glass.

A note: use wear on the frame to see pictures.


* Napoleon, born Aug. 15, 1769 in Ajaccio, Corsica and died May 5, 1821 on St. Helena Island, the UK, is the first Emperor of the French on 18 May 1804 to 6 April 1814 and 20 March 1815 to 22 June 1815. He was under the name of Napoleon Bonaparte, a general of the armies of the Revolution, commander of the armies of Italy and the Orient. Came to power in 1799, becoming First Consul after the coup of 18 Brumaire, then consul for life August 2, 1802 until May 18, 1804, when he was proclaimed emperor by a decree of the senate followed a plebiscite. Finally he was crowned emperor in Notre-Dame de Paris on 2 December 1804 by Pope Pius VII.
